Hey hey all you lovely blog readers… thanks for stopping by again!

Crazy few weeks (as always!)

I recently spent an afternoon in Worlds End studios with the brilliant Gary Connolly, ‘The Irish Photographer’ shooting some new promo shots – Gary took me out of my comfort zone completely – with no fake tan allowed for one (I probably shouldn't be admitting to that one!)

Some of the gorgeous clothes I wore were provided by Beaux Bows boutique of Georges Street Arcade. Ailbhe, (the very quirky & stylish owner) v. kindly trusted me with some of her new A/W collection and there were some fab pieces in there that I couldn’t resist buying afterwards – so thanks again Ailbhe.

Make up was by the brilliant Caroline Geraghty with styling by Lynne Gorman so huge thanks for all your assistance guys – much appreciated. Here’s the result.

Music wise, on the original front I’ve been busy with both Corrugated Tunnel and Grooveboy doing the following live p.a.'s

-Mystik Fest, Wicklow
-Pygmalion, Dublin
-Carphone Warehouse, ‘Endless Summer’ campaign (Cork & Dublin)
-Mantra, Maynooth (kicking off a monthly residency)
-Dunshaughlin Harvest Fest

Cheers to Al Keegan and co for having me for the Mystik Fest gig, Lynn Hunter PR for booking us for the Carphone Warehouse marketing campaigns and of course Edwin James, Karl Lambert, Tony Pugh, Del Fortune and the Lay Deep boys for all their hard work with me to date.

Writing wise I’ve 3 brand new tunes in the bag with Grooveboy in the last couple of weeks also so looking forward to putting down the vocal for each of those.

Last Saturday I performed my last Motown gig with my Jewelettes gals, Michelle Dunne & Sharon Osigwe in The Mill Theatre, Dundrum. Over the years we've had some amazing times, played some amazing venues and performed as a trio for some amazing people so it was pretty emotional singing with two of my best friends for the very last time - BUT, there comes a time for change and now is that time. Wishing the girls and of course all of my good pals in The Jewelettes Motown Big Band the very best with the band going forward.

In between all of that I did the wedding of the gorgeous Elaine & Kevin in Rathfarnham. Peter and Ramona in Blessington and also Shirley & Sinead in Blessington – three beautiful ceremonies and pre-dinner entertainment all round!

And finally - in between all of the above - the Dubs brought Sam home!! .... AND I had the pleasure of touching the actual Cup at a function I performed at this weekend.... special times!!!!

Until next time peops... laters ;)

Things been hectic on the original front the last couple of weeks so a quick rundown of what I been up to - Sat 20th Aug I was in Crawdaddy performing with Corrugated Tunnel (organized by Tenth Planet Music), with none other than Donnacha Costello at the helm. Great night, great crowd, great music - our new track 'Broken Barriers' even got an outing and went down a storm…. next live PA with Corrugated Tunnel is at Mystik Fest on 17th September https://www.facebook.com/mystik.fest

Sunday 21st Aug and Sat 3rd Sept I was in both Pygmalion and Bia Bar, Dublin respectively for Lay Deep, doing live PA's with Grooveboy - (Grooveboy are a Dublin based DJ / Production duo who I've recently teamed up with to write some House music tracks - 2 already in the bag - "Ain't Gonna Stop' and Can't Get Enough' - both can be found on my soundcloud page http://soundcloud.com/antoinette-dunleavy. )

On both Lay Deep nights we had live percussion from the unflaffable, Mr Cool, Mark Finn… as well as some absolutely banging sets from Del Fortune, Zane Smith, Aidan Weldon, Brian Murphy, Ian O, Chris Power and Joe Connolly .

Best thing for me about both Lay Deep nights? I got to grab the mic after I performed my own tracks and just do my thang and improvise vocally … anybody who knows me knows I pretty much love doing that kinda thing… some special moments I gotta say ;)

On  separate note - a big shoutout and thanks once again to Niall Redmond of RTE Pulse who has been showing the love & support for the tracks I've done with Grooveboy - he's given both tracks an airing on his weekly show 'The Digital Groove' - check out The Digital Groove on 2FM every Monday night 8-11pm

Club nights aside I've been wedding busy busy busy  - check out my wedding FB page for all the pictures and updates!

Hey there all you lovely people…. blog time again :) Sooo, here's filling you in on what's been happening! I've been keeping a low profile over the last few weeks as I took a little well earned break to the sun to refresh body and mind (mission complete ;) BUT theres still been LOTS happening in the background!

Y'all know that as much as I love doing my church gigs I also love doing my original music - it's a HUGE part of what I do. So, as I previously highlighted, I'm giving my website a make-over very soon. It's going to incorporate the original side of my music … keep an eye out, I'll have some nice new photo shots up there as well as all my new music fresh from the studio oven…

On the original front I have two gigs coming up which I'm pretty excited about… on the 20th August I'm in Crawdaddy with Corrugated Tunnel - Edwin (aka Corrugated Tunnel) has been belting out the quality House tracks to me recently so he's been keeping me busy on the writing front…we've LOTS of new material - some of which we'll be showcasing on the night (as well as performing our current single 'The Rejection'). Donnacha Costello will be headlining the event ….come on down ;) The following night (21st Aug) I'm then in Pygmalion, Powerscourt Centre, with the lovely Grooveboy lads and I'll be belting out our new tune 'Ain't Gonna Stop' as well as another new tune which we're working on at the moment… promises to be another great night! Ok… will leave it there for the moment - wedding updates next week… I've four stunning brides to fill you in on….so keep an eye on this, and my Facebook pages ;))

Well..here we go… blog no 2!

What a crazy few weeks it's been, so much happening on a personal note music-wise.

Gotta start with the launch of the new Corrugated Tunnel Album, Minor Obsessions. Album written and produced by Edwin James. Described as 'an insanely talented tunesmith' by E. McFee of HotPress Magazine, I was delighted and pretty honoured that Edwin asked me to collaborate with him on no less than two tracks for the album. The album was released on 11th October.

The launch party for Minor Obsessions took place on Saturday last in The Grand Social in Dublin. I performed live versions of my two tracks 'Remedy for my Soul' and 'The Rejection'. Was great to perform them live and in the company of such talent. A shout out to Liam Dunne (I'm now his no 1 fan… loved his set) , Donnacha Costello, Tenth PlanetMusic and Process Recordings. A big shout out too to my vocal partner in crime on the night Miss Deborah Kelly.

If you wanna show the love and purchase the album you can do so on all digital download stores or on the Process Recordings website. And if you don't believe me about how good the album is check out the external reviews I've pasted at the end of the blog :))

On a separate note I'm working on some cool new tracks and must say am pretty excited by these two. Next Monday i'm off to Paris, France to record a dance music track with a legendary Brazilian House music maestro (who I can't currently name at the moment). However, this guy has produced remixes for the likes of Shakira and The Bee Gees and is pretty much legendary in House music circles.

I'm also working on a track for DJ Chris Browne. I was introduced to Chris by Michelle Dunne, one of my Story of Motown and Jewelettes 'sistahs'. Chris was looking for someone to do vocals and since Michelle is more into the cheesy stuff she decided to put me in touch with Chris instead (sorry Michelle.. it's true… you're a cheese please type o gal!!). All joking aside , I was struck by the feel-good happy house vibe of Chris' music so jumped at the chance to put a vocal to one of his tracks… vocal currently under construction, but it's gonna be a pretty laid back summer tune, watch this space!

As promised in my last blog here's the link to the video for 'Miss You' by The PW Sessions. I also attach another link to a session we did for Bandwagon TV.. crammed into a caravan last Wednesday singing Don't Stop was bizarre, VERY different BUT great craic ..cheers to The Bandwagon TV guys Sean and Kevin :))

So with all the goings on with the original music is there any time for Antoinette Dunleavy church singer or Antoinette Dunleavy, wedding singer? ABSOLUTELY. I did the wedding of the beautiful Tricia (and Will of course) in Naas last Friday and am in Dublin this coming Friday at the wedding of Mandy and Brian.

On top of that I've been extremely busy with administration for bookings for next year (as well as bookings for 2012!)- the diary is filling up pretty heavily. If you want a wedding singer for next year my advice is get in early to book your preferred singer (particularly for the summer months) as most wedding singers or church singers worth their salt will be booked months in advance.

OK peoples, gonna leave it there, Thanks for reading.Until the next time!

PS Don't forget to check out the feedback below for 'Minor Obsessions' !

PRAISE FOR 'MINOR OBSESSIONS' AND 'REMEDY FOR MY SOUL'

I know they say don't believe your own hype… but the hype is good, so we're gonna take it while it's going! So here goes with a sample of some of the feedback we've received:

'It's not the standardized dance album of say, David Guetta. No, it's better than that' Pete M, review of Minor Obsessions for HarderFaster.

'The overall atmosphere is deep and dark..except the vocals… Antoinette is the sunshine that takes you along the trip' Erik Buis in reviewing the Rennie Foster remix of Remedy For My Soul

Remedy For my Soul referred to as 'obvious standout' and also voted the 'key track' of the album Minor Obsessions by HotPress Magazine

"Great track! Reminds me of The Gossip" - DJ Tronic (DanceFloor Mayhem)

"Great track, nice for a backroom set" - Tom Findlay (Groove Armada)

"Good song, catchy vocal and music. It's a hit!" - Shane Johnson (Fish Go Deep)

"21st Century Synth Pop, love it :)" - Mitch Davis (Electric Sheep)

"I love the Italo-disco connections!" - Chelonis R Jones

"Remedy For My Soul is master." - Theo Ploeg (OOR)

"Best Album to date from Edwin. I am pleasantly surprised by the variation and also the vocals are a welcoming change especially Antoinette is touching the senses here. Good work and deserves more and better things for Mr James!" - Orlando Voorn
